In New Delhi today, a blast occurred at 7:47 am in the CRPF school located in Prashant Vihar, Rohini. The explosion damaged a wall, shattered car windows, and affected nearby shops, but luckily, no one was hurt. Multiple security teams, including Delhi Police, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), are investigating what caused the blast.
Chief Minister Atishi criticized the BJP, blaming them for the bad law and order situation in Delhi. She pointed out that the police in Delhi are controlled by the Union Home Ministry, which is led by the BJP. In a post on social media, she compared Delhi’s current condition to Mumbai's underworld days, saying criminals are becoming bolder and more dangerous.
Atishi also warned that if the BJP took control of the Delhi government, other services like hospitals, power, and water supply would become as bad as the law and order situation. BJP leader Shazia Ilmi responded, calling Atishi’s comments immature and saying it’s not the time for political blame games, but rather for focusing on the investigation.
Elections are coming up in Delhi in February, and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has ruled Delhi for the last 10 years, is trying hard to stay in power. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, who recently stepped down as Chief Minister after a corruption investigation, has said he will only return to office if the people vote for him again. In the meantime, Atishi has taken over as Chief Minister.
The police have registered a case under the Explosives Act and are investigating whether a crude bomb caused the blast. Forensic experts and sniffer dogs are at the scene looking for clues, and CCTV footage is being reviewed to find out who might be responsible.
